Noise testing and reports for planning purposes
Sometimes when submitting a planning application to your local council you will be asked to carry out a noise survey if noise needs to be considered, either for a new building development or, for example, an existing building where there is an application for change of use. Two of the most common guideline documents that you may be required to adhere to are BS 8233 or BS 4142.
Carrying out a noise test will establish whether the effect of any noise will be noticeable or intrusive and whether mitigation measures should be taken to reduce noise to an acceptable level. On completion of the noise survey Noiseair will produce a concise report which will also include mitigation measures and recommendations.
Depending on which planning guidance document that we are working to, a noise survey will normally be carried out over a time scale from one day to several days.
Noise Risk Assessment – Cheshire, Manchester & the North-West
As an employer you will have legal duty and moral obligation to ensure that your employees are protected from risks associated with excessive noise. Generally, if people are having to shout to be heard, or having difficulty hearing what is being said at a distance of one meter then the likelihood of noise being excessive is high.
By carrying out a noise risk assessment you will identify whether noise levels come below or above the action levels as set out by The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 and will also establish any problem areas or procedures within the workplace. It is recommended that a noise assessment is carried out by a competent person, using a professional noise level meter.
Our experienced acoustic consultants are all members of The Institute of Acoustics and available to carry out your noise risk assessment to suit your individual shift patterns as necessary.
From 1 – 500+ employees we will offer the same standard of service, great prices and all risk assessments will be followed by a written (jargon free) report outlining all the important factors. We will also include any mitigation measures and recommendations for remedial work as necessary.
