New Music Rooms Southampton University – Noiseair are pleased to have been recently involved in the design, manufacture and installation of 2 new music rooms for a Southampton University within the Music Department.
The music rooms are of a ‘room in a room’ design giving optimum soundproofing and acoustic performance. The images above show the completed rooms incorporating a modular acoustic panel system to the walls, acoustic doors and ceilings with a low noise ventilation system.
The music rooms are used by students for all kinds of music practice… from guitar and drums to a full blown orchestra. Upon installation completion, noise insulation testing was undertaken by taking noise measurements using a type 1 sound level meter in order to confirm that the soundproofing and noise breakout met with all requirements.
Modular music practice rooms can be installed speedily, meaning minimal disruption to the normal teaching schedule. Being of modular design means that we can offer any size or configuration and we can offer a range of colour choices too. We can often arrange installation to be undertaken out of term time and we will do all we can to accommodate your requirements.
